ASD Flashcards
Definition of ASD
Persistent deficits in social communication and social interaction across multiple contexts
Restricted, repetitive patterns of behavior, interests, or activities
Level 1 severity
Requiring support.
without support deficits in social communication cause noticeable impairments. RRB’s cause significant interference with functioning in 1 or more contexts - not easily distracted from RRBs.
Level 2 severity
Marked deficits in verbal and non-verbal social communication skills, social impairments apparent even with support. RRBs appear frequently enough to be obvious to the casual observer. Distress/frustration when RRBs are interrupted.
Level 3 severity
Severe deficits in verbal/nonverbal communication skills cause severe impairments in functioning
RRBs repeatedly interfere with functioning in all spheres. marked distress when RRB/routine is interrupted.
