County Sport Partnership - funded by Sport England
- Work with activity providers such as: local authorities, health organisations, NGB’s, sports clubs and schools - committed to increasing participation across ‘network’
Aims of Sport England at a local level
Provide sporting opportunities through schemes and initiatives attempting to overcome barriers especially for under-represented groups. They fund projects and organisations aiming to:
- help people make a sporting habit for life
- create opportunities for young people
- nurture and develop talent
- provide facilities in right places
- support local authorities and unlock local funding
- ensure real opportunities for communities
What is StreetGames and how do they help disadvantaged communities
National charity - develop sport in disadvantaged communities, making sport accessible to all regardless of social circumstances
- Provide ‘doorstep sport’ - local communities
- To overcome participation issues in lower socioeconomic groups
- Provide affordable sessions at convenient times
- Multi-sport sessions of informal nature to increase appeal for participation

Activity Alliance - national charity (previously EFDS) - aim to increase participation among disabled people
- ‘Everyone Can’ - initiative to change perceptions
- ‘Inclusive Sport’ - increase participation of young people and adults playing sport
- ‘Get Equipped’ - funding scheme to provide specialist equipment required
- Sport England invest in EFDS - increase speed of implementing strategy for participation
- EFDS work with 9 focused CSPs via dedicated engagement officers

Women in Sport - aims to make being active more attractive to women - breaking down barriers
- Making women’s sport a major priority financially
- ‘This Girl Can’ - scheme designed to break down barriers to increase participation
- ‘I Will If You Will’ - behavioural change pilot in local authority to help get women in sport

Sporting Equals - promotes involvement by disadvantaged communities, particularly in BME population
- Promote ethnic diversity across sport
- Only organisation to do so
- Work with local and national sport providers - NGBs and local authorities
- Aim to make sustainable difference in inclusion of under-represented groups to improve health
