Artifacts Caused During Processing Flashcards

1
Q

What Causes Chemical Streaks?

A
  • Caused by inadequate removal of chemicals from hanger clips
  • Overall streaking if placed in water rinse before stop bath
  • Could also be insufficient agitation
  • Removing film to view during development period causing developer to run across film unevenly

Q

What Cause Spotting?

A
  • If fix comes in contact with prior to processing, it will cause light areas or spots
  • If developer or water comes in contact prior to processing, dark spots will be caused
  • Water droplets on film during drying also also causes spot
