Legislative Branch:
Made up of the House of Representatives and Senate
Article 2
Executive Branch:
Describes the Presidency including Vice-President, and Cabinet
Article 3
Judaical Branch:
The Supreme Court
Justices are appointed by President and approved by Senate and serve for life.
Article 4
States Powers:
States have the power to make and carry out their own laws.
Article 5
Amendments:
The constitution is in no way permanent it can be altered with amendments.
Need:
2/3 Votes in House
3/4 Votes in Senate
Article 6
Federal Supremacy :
Federal and Constitutional Laws are higher then state and local laws. ALL laws must be Constitutional.
Article 7
Ratification:
Says that for the Constitution to take effect only 9 states must ratify it.
What are the Powers of the Legislative Branch? (7)
Powers: ALL legislative powers. They make the laws. Collect Taxes Coin Money Regulate interstate trade/commerce Declare war

Impeachment (House)
How many Reps in House of Representatives does each state get.
Depends on Population
How many senators does each state get?
- Each have 2 year long terms
What are the 3 qualifications needed to be a House Representative? And how long do they serve?
25 Years of Age
7 Years as a U.S. Citizen
Resident of State they shall Represent
6 Year Terms
How are the number of Representatives for each state determined? And how long do they serve?
For every Thirty thousand people in state that shall have 1 Representative.
Every State is given at LEAST one representative regardless of population
Only exception is the original colony’s, with their ore-determined representatives.
Serve 6 year terms
What are the powers of the Presidency? (7)
Power to recognize of countries.
Grants pardons
Negotiate treaties (with Senate approval)
Appoint Supreme Court justices
Appoint Executive Cabinet
Veto congressional enactments (Congress can override with 2/3 vote)
Chief and Commander of Military
What are the Presidential qualifications?
Natural Born U.S. Citizen
35 Years of Age
14 Years of U.S. Resident
Victory in the Electoral College
Or appointed by Congress
In order to vote in a President each state must cast its vote through Electors. How are the number of Electors chosen for each state?
Each State gets the same number of Electors as the number of representatives they have in Congress.
Electors = H.Representatives + Senators
