How does the impeachment process work?

A

It starts when the House of Representatives votes to impeach. If the impeachment is approved by the House of Representatives, the case moves to the Senate for a trial. If there is a 2/3 majority vote from members of the Senate for a conviction and a removal from office, the only punishment allowed.
