Contact Tower approximately 25 NM from the airport

Visual Approach Requirements
A
- Reported ceiling is at least 500 ft above minimum vectoring altitude
- Ground visibility of 3 SM
- Pilot reports sighting the airport OR at controlled aerodrome, pilot has visual contact with the preceding aircraft from which separation is to be maintained

Contact Approach Requirments
A
- Clear of Cloud
- 1 NM visibility
- Pilot must request it
- There is an approved Instrument approach

Contact Approach Responsibilities
A
- Maintaining 1000 ft clearance over obstacles within 5 NM of the aircraft’s position
- Compliance with Class F airspace restrictions
- ATC retains responsibility for IFR separation

- Governed by RVR
- No RVR, no approach ban
- RVR A Only: 1200
- RVR A and B: 1200/600
- RVR B Only: 1200

- Passed the FAF
- Training flight planning to execute missed approach
- RVR varying between minimums
- Ground visibility at least 1/4 mile
- Cat III ILS
