Q

for the Arrhenius equation, as Ea gets BIGGER, k gets….

A

k gets smaller
- so the rate will be slower

  • This is because if the reaction has a higher activation energy, this means not many reactant particles will have enough energy to react

Q

for the Arrhenius equation, as temparture increases, K ….

A

K increases

  • as the at higher temperatures particles have more energy and move faster and collide more frequently and successfully.
  • so rate increases

Q

what is the expression for gradient of the line of best fit

A

1) -Ea/R

- then once you know the actual gradient, you can calculate activation energy and Arrhenius constant.
