(6) Slow rank progression resulting from a pattern of marginal conduct or performance.

What is the BEAR program?

A

Bonus Extension and Retraining program; assists in force alignment -allows eligible soldiers an opportunity to extend their enlistment for formal retraining into a shortage MOS that is presently in the SRB Program and, upon completion of retraining, to be awarded the new PMOS, reenlist, and receive an SRB in the newly awarded PMOS.

What is a Bar to Reenlistment used for?

A

to put a soldier on notice that-

(1) He or she is not a candidate for reenlistment.
(2) He or she may be a candidate for separation if the circumstances that led to the Bar to Reenlistment are not overcome. Soldiers will be advised exactly what is expected in order to overcome the Bar to Reenlistment and be given explicit timetables to overcome the reasons for the bar.
