What is the mission of ASAP?
- To strengthen the overall fitness/effectiveness of the armys total workforce/to enhance the combat readiness of its soldiers
What are the Objectives of ASAP?
- Boost readiness and prevention of substance abuse * Implement risk reduction and treatment strategies * Support substance-impaired soldiers’ return to duty
What is meant by deglamorization of alcohol?
- Personnel will not promote any function glamorizing the use of alcohol through drinking contest, games, initiations, or the awarding of alcoholic beverages as prizes in contests
Is ASAP participation mandatory for individuals that are command referred? What will happen to soldiers who fil to participate in or fail to respond successfully to rehabilitation?
- It is required for all soldiers who are command referred. Failure to attend mandatory session constitutes USMJ
What are the ways that soldiers can be identified as having a substance abuse problem?
- Voluntarily
- Commander/Supervisor ID
- Biochemical ID
- Medical ID
- Investigation/Apprehension
What are the objectives of rehab with ASAP?
- Return soldiers to full duty as soon as possible
- ID soldiers who cannot be rehabilitated within the scope of this regulation
- Refer those soldiers to proper treatment facilities
