Airgun Definition
Includes any Air Pistol, Air Rifle and weapon from which, by the use of gas or compressed air.
Duties of Firearms Licence Holder
. Produce to police on demand
. Renew every 10 years
. 7 days to produce if not on person
. Keep legible and undamaged
. Notify change of address within 30 days
. Report to police if lost, stolen or destroyed in writing
. Death/Injury reported ASAP
How old to get a licence for firearm/Airgun ?
16 years old with parental permission
How old to not require a firearms licence to own an Airgun ?
18 years old
Meaning of possession in relation to Firearms
Knowledge of the firearm and physical control over it.
Every person occupying any land/building or driving any vehicle which firearms are found in, is deemed to be in possession unless they are able to prove it is not their property and in the possession of some other person.
What is Section 66B of the Arms Act ?
Power to demand details of anyone in possession of a firearm-NAD
Name/Address/DOB
If they refuse/give false details, they can be cautioned/warned and if they persist then may be arrested.
