Arm Muscles Flashcards
Brachialis
Origin: Lower half anterior surface humerus Inter muscular septa
Insertion: Ulnar tuberosity
Actions: Flexion arm
Innervation: Musculocutaneous (C5, C6)
Lateral side may receive radial n
Coracobrachialis
Origin: Coracoid process
Insertion: Anteromedial surface midshaft humerus
Actions: Flex arm
Adduct arm
Innervation: Musculocutaneous (C5-C7)
Biceps brachii
Origin: Short head- tip coracoid process
Long head- supraglenoid tubercle
Insertion: Radial tuberosity; Bicipital aponeurosis into fascia forearm
Actions: Flexion arm, Flexion forearm Supination arm
Innervation: Musculocutaneous (C5,C6)
Anconeus
Origin: Lateral epicondyle of humerus
Insertion: Lateral side olecranon of ulna
Actions: Extension forearm
Stabilize elbow joint against flexion or supination/ pronation
Innervation: Radial nerve (C7,C8)
Triceps brachii
Origin: Long head- infraglenoid tubercle
Lateral head- posterior surface humerus above lateral groove medial nerve and lateral inter muscular septa
Medial head-posterior surface humerus below medial groove radial nerve and both intermuscular septa
Insertion: Lateral side olecranon of ulna
Actions: Extension forearm
Innervation: Radial nerve (C7,C8)
