evaluating arguments

A
a = acceptability (premise)
r = relevance (premise)
g = good grounds (conclusion)

What makes a premise acceptable?
A
- is it reasonable for those to whom it is adressed?
- is there no evidence indicating that the premise is false
- do you have good reason to accept the premises

what makes a premise relevant?
A
- do the premises state evidence that supports the conclusion?
- can the premises be arranged, into a demonstration from which the conclusion can be derived?
- does the premise matter?

- do the premises give sufficient reason to make it rational to accept the conluison?
- does the conclusion actually follow from the premises
