this movement was very appealing to many because it did not discriminate against women or low social status people

a sea based hindu kingdom in southeast asia that built up its navy and prospered by charging fees to traveling ships going between india and china

a sea based buddhist kingdom in southeast asia that sustained its power by controlling sea routes, like the srivijaya did

(aka angkor kingdom) - a land based kingdom in southeast asia that had a complex irrigation and drainage system that led them to economic prosperity, making it one of the most prosperous kingdoms in southeast asia
