promote homeostasis and pts ability to cope with disease, sleep, ambulation, eating, defecation, pain relief, relieve congestion
Indications for hospital OMT
post op ileus, constipation, penumonia, atelactasis, difficulty feeding, chest wall pain
Contraindications for hospital OMT
any treatment technique that would involve direct manipulation of surgical sites
Frequency and dosage of OMT
sicker the pt the less the dose, allow time for pt to respond to treatment

Supine OMM for chest pain
suboccipital MFR, thoracic inlet release, T-spine soft tissue, rib raising
OMM for pneumonia
suboccipital release, cervical soft tissue C3-5, rib raising, abdominal diaphragm release, thoracic pump and pedal pump
When to not use thoracic pump with recoil?
if pt has COPD
