Application Flashcards
What are the main points to include when evaluating data
- was a stats test used to determine whether differences are significant ?
- does it show results for more than one plant / species / organism / age / gender etc
- do standard deviations overlap
-what was the most effective / least effective ?
-do figures show that eg co monoxide conc at 5 is deadly or have you assumed this
-find the range of the data , mode and mean
-was there a large or small sample size - range of data studied eg are values close together , should they investigate a wider range of values?
why is there no sig diff if the standard deviations do overlap
if you are talking about stats tests say
no stats test and no standard deviations to show if overlap occurs so difference is not significant
what to do in qs about photosynthesis
always write what part of photosynthesis you are talking about , whether its in the light independent or light dependent
if you are describing a graph with peaks , say
there are peaks at …. and this means.
there are no peaks at …… and this means
if talking about death in plants due to photosynthesis say
not sufficient photosynthesis
if you are ever talking about a limiting factor in photosyntehsis say
…. is not limiting or is limiting therefore the light - independent or light - dependent reactions are limiting / not limiting
