It maintains the last rpm signal attained with the buttons. It only limits psi if the pressure spikes more than 50 psi than the last registered psi when the button was pushed to increase or decrease the rpm

Where does the excess pressure relieved by the relief valve get dumped?
Into the suction side of the pump
In order for a manual relief to work properly…
The discharge pressure needs to be at least 50 to 60 psi greater than the intake pressure, or the relief valve will be unable to dump the excess pressure into the suction side of the pump.
What does the jake break depend on to work .
Free flow of engine oil. The engine needs to be warm in order for the jake break to operate normally
When does the jake break deactivate
When the abs senses loss of traction, your foot applies pressure on the throttle, or the rpm drop below approximately 1,000
