Explain and demonstrate the use of the Epi pen

Answer 4

1.remove EpiPen from protective container
2. Remove blue safety release cat
3. Hold the EpiPen in your fist
4.caution : do not hold the orange bit
5.orange to the thigh, blue to the sky
6.push orange bit into the thigh
7.hold for 10–15 secs
8.massage the adrenaline

Once administered what actions need to occur

1.notify med link/DR
2.record time of administration on medical report form
3. Monitor closely

Explain disposal of used epi pen

Place epi pen back into original plastic case
Label it used
