What is a small scale training burn size?
small quantities (less than 25 cubic feet) of Class A materials and/or one gallon of flammable liquids for the purpose of public demonstrations and/or individual unit training.
Wildland Training burn size?
Total area not to exceed two acres
Small-Scale Regional Training Center (RTC) Training Burns:
Big enough to be put out by extinguisher
Large-Scale RTC Training Burn
This includes multi-company activities, such as structure burns, flammable liquid prop use, the RIC prop, fire academy training burns, Draeger Phase I & II props, and vegetation burns for the purpose of training.
Conditions that must be in place for a wildland training burn?
FCC Generates an incident for accountability:
• Primary and secondary control lines will be constructed.
• Hoselines will be in place.
• Weather conditions will be within the following limits:
o Air temps 60-90
o RH 20%-70%
o Winds 0-15 MPH

Staff ride consist of what 3 phases?
Preliminary Study – A systematic study of a selected
fire or other emergency operation.

associated with the incident.
• Integration – An opportunity for review of the lessons
derived from the study and visit.
