Autobiography
Tells a life story of its author, meaning it is a written record of their life. It is written by the person in their own words.
Memoir
A record of memories, and events that have taken place in the author’s life. It is telling of an event from his or her life, not their whole life.
Cumulative sentence
A loose sentence that starts with an independent or main clause, which is simple, provides main idea and then adds subordinate elements. It adds them after the subject and predicate.
Blank Verse
Defined as an un-rhyming verse written in iambic pentameter. In poetry or prose, it has a consistent meter with 10 syllables in each line (pentameter); where, unstressed syllables are followed by stressed but do not rhyme, although it can.
