Anaphora

A

In writing or speech, the deliberate repetition of that first part of the sentence in order to achieve an artistic effect is known as anaphora. The oldest literary device used to emphasize certain words or phrases.

Epistrophe

A

Derived from the greek word that means to turn upon, which indicated the same word returns at the end od each sentence. A stylistic device that can be defined as the repetition of phrases or words at the end of clauses or phrases/sentences- also called epiphora common in persuasive writing and speeches.

Asyndeton

A

Derived from the Greek word Asyndeton which means unconnected. A stylistic device used in literature and poetry to intentionally eliminate confrontations between phrases and the sentence yet maintain the grammatical accuracy. Help reduce indirect meaning of the phrase and present it in a concise form.
