The president can send a bill back to Congress
Pocket Veto
A bill that the president doesn’t sign

When voters cast their votes for the president’s party to support the president
War Powers Resolution
Passed in 1973, requires presidents to consult with Congress whenever possible before wartime
Legislative Veto
The ability of Congress to override a presidential decision
Crisis
A sudden unpredicitable event that makes the president play crisis manager
