A
- Brazilian dance music
- Originates with African slaves in Brazil from the 16th to 19th century
- Major part of Brazilian carnivals such as the famous Rio Carnival
- There are Samba schools which are much larger groups of musicians and dancers, dominated by the percussion section called the bateria.
