What are the criteria for panic attacks?
1 month of worry about additional attacks
sig. maladaptive change in beahavior to avoid them
Not attributable to physiological effects of substance or meds

What are the treatments for panic attacks?
- exposure
- interoceptive exposure (increasing heart rate, hyperventilation, inducing dizziness)
- relaxation skills, breathing, imagery
What are the criteria for agoraphobia?
fear of 2 or more: Using public transportation Being in open spaces Being in enclosed spaces Standing in line or being in a crowd Being outside of the home alone and then avoiding these stiuations
what is agoraphobia often preceded by?
panic attacks

What makes up the obsessive part of OCD?
- recurrent and persistent thoughts, urges or images, they are intrusive and unwanted, and cause marked distress.
- The individual tries to ignore or suppress them, or to neutralize them by another thought or action.
What are the compulsive parts of OCD?
- Repetitive behaviors or mental acts, that the person feels driven to perform in response to an obsession
- this is done to prevent or reduce anxiety
What is the risk of suicide related to OCD?

what are the criteria for body dysmorphic disorder?
Preoccupation with one or more perceived defects or flaws in physical appearance that are not observable or appear slight to others. Repetitive behaviors (mirror checking, excessive grooming, skin picking…)
what are the criteria for hoarding disorder?
Persistent difficulty discarding or parting with possessions, regardless of their actual value.
This is due to a perceived need to save items and to distress associated with discarding them.
