Separation Anxiety Disorder Dx
4 weeks children and 6 months adults.
Excessive distress when anticipating separation; persistent reluctance to go to school, work, or other place away from home because of fear of separation; repeated complaints of physical sxs.
Separation Anxiety Disorder Treatment
CBT; psychoeducation; exposure; relaxation technique; cognitive restructuring; and parent training.
OCD most common psychiatric disorder
An Anxiety disorder.
Agoraphobia DX
Marked fear or anxiety in at least two different situations.
Client’s anxiety is related to a fear of being unable to get help if he develops panic-like symptoms.
Interoceptive Exposure
Exposing the individual to bodily sensations associated with a panic attack.
OCD treatment of choice
Exposure with response prevention.
Panic attack symptoms
-Heart palpitations or an accelerated heart rate.
-derealization or depersonalization.
-fear or losing control.
