Range in severity from mild (e.g. edginess) to severe the feeling that one is “going to die” or “lose control”

Include worry, apprehension, obsessions and thoughts about emotional or bodily damage.

most classic symptoms: Pulmonary : shortness of breath
others:
Cardiac: palpitations, tachycardia, chest pain
Gastrointestinal : nausea, abdominal distress
Neurological : shaking, dizziness, faintness, paresthesias
Autonomic arousal: sweating, chills, hot flashes
Anxiety about being in placed or situations from which escape might be difficult (or embarrassing)

- hyperarousal, hypervigilant
- avoidance or numbing
To meet the PTSD diagnosis criteria the patient need to have at least ____ re-experience symptoms.

- Intrusive recollection,
- Nightmares,
- Flashbacks
- Psychological distress at cues resembling events
- Physical reactivity to cues resembling event
