Q

A side note in terms of chickenpox in children &analgesic/fever symptomatic treatment ?

A

Aspirin is highly contraindicated, with VZV it could cause fatal liver &brain diseases. Use acetaminophen.

Antivirals effective against VZV aren’t currently used in healthy children, unless another affection that may cause complications is present.

Q

Difference entre varicelle &rougeole ?

Chickenpox (Jiji’s) &measles respectively.

A

Q

Cytomegalovirus ?

A

A common virus that can infect anyone. Rarely shows symptoms. Once infected, virus is carried throughout life &there is no cure for it. It only manifests in a weakened immune system terrain &spreads from one to another during its reactivation through body fluids.

Q

Mononucleosis ?

A

The incriminated virus in mononucleosis is Epstein-Barr virus EBV. Called the kissing disease because it spread via saliva &other body fluids. Rarely fatal, once infected, you are immunized. Incubation period goes up to 6 weeks, symptoms are fever, night sweats, swollen lymph nodes. Aside to obvious viral infection symptoms : headaches, muscle weakness &fatigue.
