A

Clinical syndrome characterised by a tendency to recurrent thrombosis and/or pregnancy morbidity
And persistently raised antiphospholid antibodies

A

Lupus anticoagulant and anticardiolupin antibodies
-> procoagulant effect
Impaired fibrinolysis
Increased vascular tone

A
Recurrent vascular thrombosis 
Pregnancy morbidity -> miscarriages, pre eclampsia 
Thrombocytopenia 
Haemolytic anaemia 
Superficial phlebitis 
Mitral valve prolapse
Transverse myelitis, chorea, epilepsy 
Migraine

Serology

  • anticardiolupin antibodies
  • lupus anticoagulant assay

A

Life style

  • stop smoking
  • avoid OCP
  • treat BP, lipids, DM

A symptomatic
-no treatment

Venous/Arterial thrombosis

  • life long anti coagulation
  • warfarin
  • heparin during pregnancy
