Avermectins

A

Most effective - least toxic!

Broad spectrum:
Nematodes (Anthelminctics)
Arthropods (Insecticides) - ectoparasites; lice, mites, ticks

Does NOT kill flukes/tapeworms/protoza (toxoplasma)

Safe.. except..
Murray grey cattle
Collie breeds - ivermectin

A

NARROW SPECTRUM!
(Mature & some migrating nematodes)

Adverse side effects:
Increase RR, ataxia, profuse sweating

Ascarids (equine) ,
nematodes (equine),
strongyles (equine/bovine/ovine),
Hookworms (feline / canine )
