PenV 500mg 4x daily 5 days - limited spectrum.

Your patient has odontogenic abscess - what is your second line antibiotic ?
Amoxicillin 500mg 3x daily 5 days - wider spectrum.
Review within 24-48 hours.
ANTIBIOTICS
Your patient is at risk of infective endocarditis - what prophylactic antibiotic do you prescribe ?
Amoxicillin 3g orally (sachet dissolved in water) 1 hour before procedure.
ANTI-FUNGALS
Your patient has candidosis (dental stomatitis) - what can you prescribe ?
Topical - miconazole gel 20mg/g pea-sized amount 4x daily for 7 days.
Systemic - fluconazole 50mg 1x daily 7 days.

Nystatin oral suspension 1ml 4x daily after food for 7 days.
