Oral Candidiasis (thrush)
Systemic fungal infections eg. Cryptococcal meningitis
  • Gradual general systemic toxicity
  • Nephrotoxicity
  • Hypokalaemia
  • Abnormal LFTs
  • Fever, chills, vomiting

Nystatin

A

Oral candidiasis
Used topically-swirled around in mouth. Too toxic for systemic use.

  • Oral irritation
  • Rash
  • Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea (upon slight ingestion)
  • Fatal if swallowed
