Block action of acetylcholine on smooth muscle receptors
DECREASED BRONCHOCONSTRICTION and DECREASED MUCUS in the airways
MOA
Block PNS receptors (decreased mucus) to help prevent bronchoconstriction
Adverse effects
Dry mouth
Dizziness
Pharyngeal irritation
TACHYcardia
Clinical uses
COPD maintenance
COPS exacerbations
Moderate to severe asthma exacerbations in ED
