Same as pharyngitis- Penicillin V for 10 days
management of cellulitis
IV flucloxacillin
paeds pneumonia
Mild- moderate
- Amoxicillin + erythromycin (if pen allergic just give erythromycin)
- dont give doxy
Severe
- Co-amoxiclav
epiglottitis
IV antibiotics e.g. ceftriaxone
management of cellulitis
If erysipelas alone, IV penicillin (erythromycin if penicillin-allergic).
Cellulitis
- Combination of IV penicillin and flucloxacillin.
- Consider cefotaxime instead of penicillin if child aged <5yrs and not immunized against Haemophilus.
nec fas

- Vancomycin IV plus clindamycin
Supportive treatment e.g. IV fluids
scalded skin syndrome
