Why were the Jews treated differently 2000 years ago?
2000 years ago when Christanity was the main religion of the Empire its rivalry was Judaism.
What was happened at 1000 CE?
Almost everybody was christian in Europe and Jews which did not follow the beliefs of Christanity were persecuated
What are some of the ways that Jews were being treated unfairly?
They were often used as a scapegoat for many peoples problems
They had to live in ghettos
They wee often expelled from countries

A genocide

• March: A boycott of Jewish shops organised for one day
• April: A law removed all Jewish and political opponents from public service.
• April: the number of Jewish school children reduced and controlled.
• October: removed Jews from the media.

May:All Jews removed from the army
Sept: Anti-Semitic Nuremburg Laws introduced:
1. ‘The Reich citizen law’: declared that only those of German or related blood were eligible to German citizens (citizens of the ‘Reich’).
2. Law for the protection of German Blood and German Honour: forbade marriages and sexual relations between Jews and Germans. It was a law designed to protect German blood and punishment for breaking it was severe.

• All Jews must tell the government how much wealth they have and where it is.
• All Jewish women must have ‘Sara’ and Jewish men ‘Israel’ in their name.
• A red Jew stamp must be in all Jewish passports.
• All Jewish Children banned from attending German Schools

Why did the Nazis rise to power?
There are various aspects of the Nazis gaining power and these are listed:
Appealing to all Germans: He would please all sorts of people such as famers who would be given there own land….
Hitler’s charismatic leadership: He would decieve the Germans by ensuring that they want the revenge for what the French,British and USA had made them sign which was a false surrerender. He would also only say what the Germans would like to hear
Use of Propaganda:He would often use simple logans to convey his message effectively and make them appeal to the ordinary people of Germany
Organisation of the Party:They would often spread officers to ensuee everyone was safe
Fear of Communist spreading:This was a huge issue as Rich Lanowners did not like the idea at all so Nazis banned any communists
Effects of the wall street crash:This created a demand in jobs and made Hitler the famous slogan easy solutions to difficult problems
How was the method Terror used to gain control?
The SS was one of the main weapons Hitler used as they would terrorise people into what they wanted to hear and they would often imprison people without trial. The other main weapon was the Gestapo as anyone who dared to criticised Hitler was in danger of arrest. They would often tap into phone calls and check if anyone was talking anout Hitler wrongly. Everyone feared their neighbours and friends as there was ears and eyes everywhere.
How was the method Propaganda used to control Germans?
Hitler knew that the only way that we would each total obdience is that he controls their mind and so he enlisted Goebbels as Minister of Propaganda. He was in charge of everything that anyone saw he would make rules on what was published and removed Anti-Nazis messages.Parades and Marches would be used to show the strength of the German army.
