Why is it important that anti-CD38 patients are noted?
A
Anti-CD38 drugs can interfere with the analyser
They will contaminate the analyser and thusly any proceeding samples
Contaminated samples will appear as an entirely positive panel

What should you do if anti-CD38 contamination has occured?
A
Weekly maintenance should be carried out
Any samples which have been contaminated will need to be recalled and retested

Why does anti-CD38 therapies work
A
a monoclonal antibody (MAB).
It works by targeting a certain protein (called CD38) on myeloma cells so your immune system can recognise them.
