A
unilateral pain, redness, photophobia worse when reading occurs over few hrs to days blurred vision excessive tear production

A
recurrent episodes with less acute symptoms
blurred vision and mild redness with little pain/photophobia

signs on examination
A
constricted, non reactive pupil posterior synechiae (eye abnormal shape) anterior chamber cells hypopynon (pus) reduced visual acuity photophobia

anky spond reactive arthritis psoriasis IBD sarcoidosis TB behcet's JIA

rx
A
refer within 24 hrs. sight threatening!!!
treatment differs depending on the cause but can consist of:
cycoplegic-mydriatic drugs (paralyse ciliary body)
steroids (systemic, intraocular, IM)
