O: proximal 2/3 posterior surface of tibia, proximal 2/3 fibula & interosseus membrane
I: navicular, cuneiforms, cuboid, bases of MTs 2-4
A: IV and PF ankle
N: tibial nerve
Gastrocnemius
O: posterior femur, just proximal to medial and lateral condyles
I: calcaneus through calcaneal tendon
A: PF ankle, flex knee if open chain
N: tibial nerve
Soleus
O: soleal line of tibia, posterior surface of upper 1/3 of tibia, proximal 1/3 posterior fibula
I: calcaneous through calcaneal tendon
A: PF ankle
N: tibial nerve
Peroneus Longus
O: proximal 2/3 lateral surface fibula
I: base of 1st metatarsal, medial cuneiform
A: EV ankle, weak PF ankle
N: superficial peroneal nerve
Peroneus Brevis
O: distal 2/3 lateral surface fibula
I: dorsal surface base of 5th metatarsal
A: EV ankle, weak PF ankle
N: superficial peroneal nerve
Plantaris
O: lateral femoral epicondyle
I: calcaneus anteromedial to calcaneal tendon
A: weak PF anke, weak flex knee open chain
N: tibial nerve
Flexor Hallucis Longus
O: middle 1/3 posterior surface of tibia
I: distal phalanges of lateral 4 toes
A: flex DPs toes 2-5, weak PF and IV ankle
N: tibial nerve
Tibialis Anterior
O: lateral condyle tibia, proximal 2/3 lateral surface of tibia
I: medial cuneiform, base of 1st metatarsal
A: DF & IV ankle
N: deep fibular nerve
Flexor Digitorum Longus
O: middle 1/3 posterior surface of tibia
I: distal phalanges of lateral 4 toes
A: flex DPs toes 2-5, weak PF and IV ankle
N: tibial nerve
Extensor Hallucis Longus
O: middle 1/3 anterior fibula
I: distal phalanx great toe
A: extend great toe, DF & EV
N: deep fibular nerve
Extensor Digitorum Longus
O: lateral tibial condyle
I: middle & distal phalanges lateral 4 toes
A: extend digits 2-5, DF & EV
N: deep fibular nerve
Peroneus Tertius
O: fibula, common fibers from ex dig longus
I: dorsal surface base of 5th metatarsal
A: EV & DF
N: deep fibular nerve
