Where did Tonka come from

A

Tonka’s mom was shot and killed in Nevada while Tonka was in her mouth. He was hand raised for a few months as an illegal pet, later escaping to a park where the USFWS was notified and he was confiscated. Unreleasable due to human imprintation.

Generalist herbivores, diet changes seasonally, consumes variety of plant matter. Winter- evergreen needles and inner bark of the tree, often feeding heavily off one tree and damaging/killing it. Spring and summer- berries, roots, seeds, grasses, leaves, and stems.

A

Former pet. Was found by a man in Florida and was kept in his bathtub and fed hamburger meat. The lack of sunlight and proper nutrients stunted his growth to six feet. He was confiscated and came to us in 1998.
