Symptoms of blackleg
Gas bubbles under skin of dead, Dark spongy muscle when cut open, Rapid swelling.
Enterotoxemia
Overeating. 6 types found, 3 significant. Type C and D get cattle.
Type C Enterotoxemia
Calves under two weeks of age. Stop nursing.
What cattle should be vaccinated for Enterotoxima
All cattle going on full feed or small grain pasture should be vaccinated.
Tetanus
found in spores in soil, man feces and horse feces. Only get tetanus from injury or unsanitary vaccinations.
Redwater Disease
in the US along the gulf of mexico and in the mountains. Invades the liver. Liver flukes may be a factor. Water borne disease. Found in dirty water.
Lepto
Most cases are transmitted orally. Localizes in the kidneys. Infects the fetus. Abortion, fever, respiratory stuff. Shed disease in pee. Morbidity up to 75%
Anaplasmosis
Protazo, treatment of ticks decreases ability to spread. Most prevalent along the gulf and pacific coast. Transfered by biting insects needles and surgery.
symptoms of anaplasmosis
heart action is rapid and pounding. inclined to fight. They die by suffocation.
Texas Fever
Protazoa, ticks carry it. Bad in mexico and border.
Shipping Fever Complex are also known as
Bovine respiratory disease.

Main Bacteria troubles are from what?
Pasteurella multocida, Manymia Haemolytica, Haemophilus somnus and Mycoplasma
BRD symptoms
Loss of appetite, animal apart from herd, head down, dry cough, difficulty breathing.
Prevention of BRD
Lessen stress, buy healthy cattle, TREAT EARLY AND OFTEN.
IBR
Herpies disease also known as Red Nose. Muzzle peels and is red, Brought out by stress, Rapid loss of weight. Cheezy eyes, short incubation. Respiratory probs, abortions.
BVD
Breaks out 5 days after exposure. weakens immune system. PIs are the devil. Coughing, Diarrhea, depression. VACCINATE.
PI calves
shed the disease at large amounts. 80% come from first calf heifers.
PI3
Major causative agent in bovine respiratory disease.
