Shorts summary chapter two
Major dies, bit the other animals, lead by two young boars named Snowball and Napoleon, keep the idea of the future rebellion against man alive. On Midsummer’s Eve, Mr. Jones becomes too drunk to feed or care for the animals, and the hired hands forget them as well. The animals break into the grain bins. When Mr. Jones and the hired hands appear, the animals attack and drive them off the farm. The animals are now in control of Manor Farm. They change its name to Animal Farm and establish their own rules for behavior which are painted on the wall of the barn
After Major died, what happened to the idea of a rebellion against man
None of the animals thought the rebellion would happen in their lifetime, but that is would take place, and that they were responsible for preparing it. The though became stronger and the rebellion happens. The pigs take charge.
Why do the pigs not like the stories told about Sugarcany Mountain by, Moses the raven
They don’t like the stories because they want all the animals to focus on the Golden Future Time instead of Sugarcadny Mountain.
What finally causes the animals to rebellion against Jones and the farmhands
- Mr. Jones got depressed and started drinking more
- The farm hands ignored the animals
- the animals go under and rebel
What do the animals do when the humans are chased off of the farm
They celebrated by running around the boundaries of the farm to make sure there where no humans hiding anywhere. They took all the things that the humans had used to torture and control them, and trash heap to be burnt (whips and nose rings). They threw away anything that reminded them of the humans. They ate more food than they were usually given. They sang Beasts Of England. They took ownership of the house and wrote the commandments.
What do the animals do about the farmhouse
They do not destroy it, but rather make it a museum to remind them of the rebellion. They also made it a museum because they did not want to become like the humans. They remove all the pork and gave it a burial. They made a Rilke that no one may sleep or live in the house
How does the behavior of the pigs foreshadow their eventual leadership positions
The pigs immediately set themselves above everyone else. They use propaganda to make it seem like they are not more important, but equal to the other animals, where as they are separated themselves from the animals. We also see that Snowball and Napoleon have different opinions which foreshadows who takes the leading role later in the book
