Aggression
A forceful behavior used to dominate or control another animal.

Animal behaviors that are passed from the parent to the offspring and are with the animal from birth. Also called innate behaviors.

A form of reasoning that allows animals to use past experience to solve new problems.
Learned behaviors
Animal behaviors that result from direct observations or experiences.
Migration
The movement of animals from one place to another in response to seasonal changes.
Submission
A behavior that communicates surrender to avoid being attacked by another animal of the same species.
Trial and Error
Behavior that is modified by experience.
