A
sudden swelling and affects areas of skin and mucus membranes - typically lips or tongue
can be caused by allergic-like response

A
allergic
idiopathic
drug induced
hereditary

what are signs of angioedema
A
sudden onset with obvious swelling and itch
swelling around lips and eyes
breathing difficulties could be indicative of anaphylaxis

how should angioedema be managed
A
determine if airway is compromised - call 999
if not
- swelling is severe - ask patient to seek urgent medical care
- swelling is mild - seek non-urgent medical care
