act utilitarianism vs rule utilitarianism
Act Utilitarianism emphasizes the consequences or results of individual actions. If an action results in a beneficial outcome for most people, then it is considered morally right mainly because it brings greater happiness or good to the majority.
On the other hand, Rule Utilitarianism emphasizes the consequences from following a rule of conduct. The correctness of a rule is determined by the amount of good it brings about when followed. Rule utilitarians apply the utilitarian principle directly to the evaluation of rules and then evaluate individual actions by seeing if they obey or disobey those rules
speciesism
Diskriminasyon batay sa pagiging kasapi ng isang grupo
- Makatarungan yung pagdidiscriminate sa species
- Just discrimination
anthropocentric speciesism vs pet speciesism
Anthropocentric Speciesism refers to our prejudice against animals and in favor of humans. This form of speciesism prioritizes human interests over the interests of nonhuman entities. It is based on the belief that humans are superior to other species.
On the other hand, Pet Speciesism refers to our prejudice against non-pet animals (e.g., pigs) and in favor of pet animals (e.g., dogs). This form of speciesism prioritizes the interests of certain animals that we consider as pets over those of other animals.
