Anesthesia Machine Flashcards

1
Q

part 1

A

Oxygen Flowmeter - further reduces the presseure of the gas in the intermediate pressure line from about 50psi to 15psi. This pressure is only slightly above atmospheric pressure and is the optimum pressure for entry into the breathing circuit and ultimately the patient’s lungs

Identify part 3

A

Oxygen pressure reducing valve - valve between the oxygen tank and the flowmeter/precision vaporizer, acts to reduce the pressure of gas coming from the tank

Q

What is the oxygen flush valve and where is it located?

A

The oxygen Flush valve when activated rapidly delivers a large direct volume of pure oxygen from the line exiting the pressure reducing valve into the common gas outlet or rebreathing circuit; used to rapidly fill a depleted reservoir bag

located at the bottom of the flowmeter
