Anesthesia Machine Flashcards
part 1
Oxygen Flowmeter - further reduces the presseure of the gas in the intermediate pressure line from about 50psi to 15psi. This pressure is only slightly above atmospheric pressure and is the optimum pressure for entry into the breathing circuit and ultimately the patient’s lungs
Identify part 2
Precision vaporizer - used to deliver all commonly used liquid anesthetics and converts liquid anesthesia agents into a gaseous state
Identify part 3
Oxygen pressure reducing valve - valve between the oxygen tank and the flowmeter/precision vaporizer, acts to reduce the pressure of gas coming from the tank
Identify part 4
Oxygen pressure gauge - displays the pressure of the gas coming from the oxygen gas tank
Identify part 5
Oxygen tank
Identify part 6
Y-tube
Identify part 7
Nonrebreathing scavenger (activated charcoal canister)
Identify part 8
Rebreathing bag
Identify part 9
Carbon Dioxide Absorbant Canister
Identify part 10
Inspiration Unidirectional/One way flutter valve - directs flow through the system to the patient
Identify part 11
Inspiration Hose - carries oxygen to the patient
Identify part 12
Expiration hose - carries oxygen away from the patient
Identify part 13
Expiration Unidirectional / One way flutter valve - directs flow from the patient through the system
Identify part 14
Pressure Manometer
Identify part 15
Pop off valve
