CHRONIC POSTHEMORRHAGIC ANEMIA (CPHA)
Common among menopausal women
CHRONIC POSTHEMORRHAGIC ANEMIA (CPHA)
CPHA Lab findings:
o Normal WBC or slightly↓
o ↑plt ct.
CPHA PBS
o Slightly ↑ or normal retic ct.
o RBCs at first normochromic & normocytic & gradually the newly formed red cells become microcytic & hypochromic
APHA lab findings
o ↓Hgb, ↓Hct, ↓RBC ct.
o ↑BM activity, w/out ↑red cell or hgb breakdown
APHA PBS
o Shows normal red cells
