Orthostatic changes
-What are they and what can they be indicative of?
- Blood pressure change when patient is sitting/lying down versus standing up
- Can be indicative of anemia
3 places to check pallor?
Nailbeds, conjunctiva, and oral mucosa
Petechiae
Small pin point bruises
Ecchymosis
Large bruising
Hemoglobin electrophoresis can be used to test for?
Thalassemia or sickle cell
Schistocytes can be indicative of what type of anemia?
Microangiopathic anemias
