A

Bem gave 100 American undergraduates a scale which had:
- 20 stereotypically masculine characteristics
- 20 stereotypically feminine characteristics
- 20 neutral traits
Respondents had to rate themselves on a 7-point likert scale
- the scores can be classified into two dimensions : feminine-masculine and androgynous-undifferentiated
