ESSAY QUESTION; Choose a nation (Japan, India, China, Christianity) and write an essay describing the nation and its growth throughout its history.
(Answers will vary)
Christianity: It Began as a small Jewish sect in the eastern Mediterranean region. It quickly grew in size and influence over a few decades, and by the fourth century A.D., it had become the dominant religion of the Roman Empire. Today it is the most populous religion in the world. Christians conquered the world with the gospel. Luke spread Christianity by writing two books of the Bible and he followed Paul, who also created many of the New Testament books. Antioch was the most successful church in spreading the gospel to many different places. Constantine made Christianity the religion of the empire.
How did Christianity survive the persecution of Rome and ultimately become the religion/nation of the Roman Empire?
The Roman Empire’s political unification and extensive road system, as well as the belief among many Christians that the religion was something anyone could adopt, regardless of regional or religious background. The Christian message was personal. It offered salvation and eternal life to individuals. Christianity had seemed familiar and state-based religion was impersonal and existed for the good. Avoiding, resisting, and enduring persecution helped Christians overcome it.
