Clavicle
A
Top of the thorax which attaches to the sternum at the sternoclavicular joint

-The top part of the sternum
-Attaches to the body of the sternum at the sternal angle

A small bone at the very end of the sternum

How many ribs are there
A
-12 ribs one for each of the thoracic vertebrae
-Labelled 1 to 12
-Attach to the costal cartilages

Costal cartilages
A
Connect the ribs to the sternum

Feature of the 11th and 12th rib
A
They do not connect to the costal cartilage or sternum so are called “floating ribs”
