What are the joints of the hand from wrist to fingertip
Radiocarpal joint, carpometacarpal joints, metacarpophalangeal joints and interphalangeal joints
What actions can the wrist do
abduction/adduction
flexion/extension and circumduction
What is the palmar aponeurosis
Thickened deep fascia, triangular shaped and extension of palmaris longus.
protects underlying tendons and vessels.
if you don’t have palmaris longus the palmar aponeurosis is an extension of the flexor retinaculum.
What is dupuytrens contracture
When you cant straighten digits 4 and 5, due to fibrosis of the bands of the palmar aponeurosis.
