in basalis. they produce melanin, and transfer it to keratinocytes in response to MSH + ACTH. Absorbs UV light
what do corneodesmosomes do?
bind the “bricks” together at the corneum
what causes skin to shed? (proteolysis)
the breakdown of corneodesmosomes
where are eccrine sweat glands?
everywhere
where are apocrine sweat glands?
armpits + groin (hair follicles)
what type of glands are near the hair follicle?
sebaceous glands
what layer of skin does the hair follicle sit?
dermis
